 "SOL"
Danish artists Florian Grond, Frank Halbig, Jesper Munk Jensen and

| IHY OBSERVATORY OF THE WEEK
GONG
Helioseismology utilizes waves that propagate throughout the Sun to measure, for the first time, the invisible internal structure and dynamics of a star.
The Global Oscillation Network Group (GONG) observes the Sun at locations
around the world, providing sensitive measurements of the Sun's oscillations.
This international network has provided vital clues about the Sun's interior,
which is the origin of the Sun's warm as well as the Sun's variability.

| IHY ACTIVITY OF THE WEEK
 Solar Music
The sun is filled with sound, and we can learn about its insides by studying this sound. In fact, this is the ONLY way we can learn about its inside because the light we see from the sun comes only from its outside. You can learn how
we study the interior of the Sun, using Helioseismology, by conducting your own experiments.
