Providing Observations for WHI: Yes
Observatory: Solar-Terrestrial Environment Laboratory IPS
Type of Observation: Interplanetary Scintillation
Coverage for WHI: The 327MHz multi-station interplanetary scintillation (IPS) system, which is
located at the Chbu area of Japan.
Arrows indicate locations of antenna sites of the IPS system.
Our IPS observations are made everyday between 22h and 7h UT during
April-mid-December. The first and last time when IPS data were obtained from daily
IPS observations during the WHI campaign are listed below.

Our IPS observations stopped on April 22 owing to serious mechanical failures, and it
will take at least two weeks to restore the IPS system. We obtained 186 data from IPS
observations during April 3-22. However, this number is too small to yield a solution of
the solar wind speed map from the deconvolution analysis of IPS data. Therefore, we
need to accumulate more data by restarting our IPS observations as soon as possible.
