WHI OBSERVATIONS AND MODELS ARE BEING GATHERED

Interested in participating?

The Whole Heliosphere Interval is an international coordinated observing and modeling effort to characterize the 3-dimensional interconnected solar-heliospheric-planetary system.

Overview: Learn about WHI, its basic campaign logistics, and its scientific motivation and heritage.

Science Goals: WHI's science begins with the solar interior and extends through the heliosphere and interplanetary space out to the heliopause.

WHI Observations and Models: A list of the observatories, spacecraft, instrument networks that will be performing scientific measurements during WHI, as well as planned modeling efforts.

WHI: The People: A comprehensive list of the scientists participating in WHI.

Synoptic Observing Plans: Many participating observatories will be running a continuous "synoptic" set of observations, to provide baseline measurements of the heliophysical system.

Targeted Observing Plans: Many "targeted" observing campaigns will run within the WHI timeframe. These campaigns involve day-to-day coordinated observations of heliospheric subregions in order to address specific scientific questions.

WHI News and Updates: Look here for a brief review of what has changed, and what is new with WHI.

WHI Master Calendar: A comprehensive schedule of WHI campaigns, planning activities, and science activities.

Join the WHI Coordination Team: There are many opportunities to participate in WHI. All observations are welcome!
