Eruption on April 9, 2008 as seem by SOHO/CDS

Notes:
These maps are at the pointing listed in the CDS headers. They have not been coaligned with other data sets.

Doppler measurments: There is no absolute wavelength calibration for CDS, so the absolute Doppler vaulues are arbitrary, based on a off limb average in a given waveband.

The CDS PSF is asymetric. For these images from NIS2 (513-633 A) the FWHM is about 1.7" X 7.6" PA = 17 degrees, for NIS1 (308-381) 2.6" x 11.0" PA = 0 degrees
See CDS NIS PSF for more info.

Prominence eruption - raster from 09:13 UT to 10:55 UT

Two expoures in the raster were missing, near x=1050", time=9.8 hours The values in these columns have been interpolated

Log grey scale O V Integrated intensities. Contours O V intensities, [.01,.1,.5,.95] or max value.
Grey scale O V Doppler values. Contours O V intensities, [.01,.1,.5,.95] or max value.
Log grey scale Mg X/Si X Integrated intensity values. It does look like there is some faint emission from these lines, which are formed at about 106 K.
Linear grey scale Mg X/Si X integrated line intensity. Contours O V intensities, [.01,.1,.5,.95] or max value.

Hottest Lines CDS saw and could fit were Fe XIV 334.17 and Fe XVI 335.41 A. There might be some signs of the prominence there, although they are noisy. The Fe XVI 335.41 A line is blended with something, maybe a Mg VII line or somethgn hotter.

Hottest Lines CDS saw and could fit were Fe XIV 334.17 and Fe XVI 335.41 A. There might be some signs of the prominence there, although they are noisy. The Fe XVI 335.41 A line is blended with something that is hard to seperate on a point by point basis.
